For the busy jobseeker – and is there any other kind? – the job search can be more convenient than ever. Several new iPhone applications put potential openings at your fingertips whether at home, on the couch or at the local coffee shop.

subscribing companies, human resource managers and recruitment organizations with jobseekers, released a free application to make it possible to job search from virtually anywhere. The Mployed app enables jobseekers to search and set alerts for positions all over the world, with information updated in real time. If relocating halfway across the globe is not of interest, the GPS function allows users to search for positions closer to home.

The point is two-fold: to help jobseekers be the first to apply and to give them increased flexibility to search where they want, when they want. “Accessibility is very important,” says Braiden Harvey, president of Mployd.com. “If you are on a bus, just got off a plane or walking down the street, you can search and find the right job.”

Several other websites and even books have also released free job searching apps.

The Job-Interview Tool app, based on the best-selling “What Color Is Your Parachute” series by Richard Bolles, offers tips on preparing for and executing a successful job interview.

The iusajobs app partners with www.usajobs.gov, the official job site of the U.S. Federal Government, to provide federal job openings and employment information. Check out these and others for more tools to add to a resourceful, successful job search.
